Data shows that Volkswagen Group (China) and its joint ventures delivered 3.85 million vehicles in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong markets, a decrease of 9.1% compared to the same period in 2019, which is higher than the overall decline in the Chinese passenger car market. However, in terms of market share, the company achieved 19.3% market share in China and continued to maintain its lead.

In terms of models, the SUV offensive of the above two major brands has an obvious effect, with sales of 805,500 vehicles, accounting for 29.9% of the total delivery volume, an increase of 3.9 percentage points from the same period in 2019.

According to the data released by the Passenger Association, the highest-selling model of the Volkswagen brand is the Lavida. The cumulative sales in 2020 are about 420,000 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 21.7%. In the SUV field, the highest-selling model is the Tiguan series. Cumulative sales in 2020 are approximately 190,000 units, a year-on-year decline of 16.8%. Among the Jetta brands, the most sold model is the Jetta VS5, with a cumulative sales of approximately 81,000 vehicles, an increase of 120.9% year-on-year.

Although the overall passenger car market has fallen further, the Audi brand has achieved its best performance since entering China for more than 30 years. In 2020, a total of 727,400 vehicles will be delivered to the mainland and Hong Kong, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. According to the data from the Passenger Association, the cumulative sales volume of Audi A6L is approximately 179,000, a year-on-year increase of 37.2%, and it is the sales leader among domestic models.
