Annual output of 900,000 vehicles Volkswagen Group has five MEB plants worldwide

It is reported that the Volkswagen Group has a global presence, including a small factory in Reden, Germany. There are already 5 MEB factories in China, including the Anting factory in China, the Foshan factory, the Dresden factory in Germany, the Zwickau factory and the Skoda factory in the Czech Republic.

In terms of production capacity, the maximum production capacity of the above-mentioned five factories is 900,000 vehicles per year. However, considering some uncertain factors, it will take a long time to achieve this capacity effect. Currently, at the Zwickau plant, Volkswagen produces about 800 fully electric ID.3 and ID.4 vehicles every day. When new models are added to the production line, the daily output can reach a maximum of 1,500 vehicles and a maximum of 330,000 vehicles per year.

According to foreign media, by 2022, the Volkswagen Group will have 3 new plants to join the production of MEB platform electric vehicles, namely the Emden and Hanover plants in Germany and Chattanooga in the United States. The production capacity will be further increased by then.
