According to Guangming Daily, Chen Shihua, the deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, recently issued a suggestion that Beijing can follow the example of Shanghai and study the introduction of special passenger car license plates restricted to suburban areas.

According to the suggestion of Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Beijing can follow the example of Shanghai and study and introduce special passenger car license plates limited to the suburbs, and not include the city's motor vehicle population control indicators, which can meet the requirements. Suburban families need to buy cars and travel without causing congestion in the central city. This batch of licenses does not require lottery, and only meets the travel needs of suburban people in the local area.

For reference, in accordance with the requirements of the Shanghai Transportation Administration, Shanghai C licenses are issued to car owners with registered permanent residence in the suburbs of Shanghai, except for Huangpu, Jing'an, Xuhui, Hongkou, Putuo, Changning, Yangpu, and Zhabei areas, and are not If you want to get a Shanghai C license, you need to be in a suburban area.

At the same time, motor vehicles with the 'Shanghai C' license plate are prohibited from passing on the Zhonghuan Road (Yanggao South Road Overpass to Huaxia Viaduct), Huaxia Viaduct and roads in the following areas: along the outer ring tunnel (including two Taihe Road on the side)-S20 Outer Ring Expressway (West of the Outer Ring Tunnel to Yanggao South Road Overpass, including Taihe Road on both sides, Taihe West Road to Gutai Road on both sides)-Yanggao South Road-Longyang Road Interchange-Longyang Road -Longdong Avenue-Jinqiao Road-Jinqiao Overpass-Yanggao Middle Road-Yanggao North Road-Yanggao North First Road and the area enclosed by the Yangtze River and Huangpu River (including the above roads). If a car with a Shanghai C license plate violates the regulations and forcibly enters the city of Shanghai, it will be punished with a three-point penalty and a fine of 200 yuan. It is worth mentioning that small passenger taxis with the 'Shanghai C' license plate can pass on the S20 outer ring expressway in the above-mentioned area.
