EPA announces Mustang Mach-E measured cruising range data

Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tested four versions of Ford's pure electric SUV Mustang Mach-E Premium, and officially announced the endurance results. EPA is known as the most stringent operating range test method in the industry, which is closer to the actual driving habits of users than the WLTP standard adopted by the European NEDC and the United Nations. Under different test standards, the cruising range of the same model is usually quite different. Take the Tesla Model 3 long-range rear-drive version as an example: EPA 325 miles (approximately 523 kilometers), WLTP 373 miles (approximately 600 kilometers), and NEDC 419 miles (675 kilometers).

The test results officially announced by the EPA show that the cruising range of the four Mustang Mach-E Premium models has reached the value previously estimated by Ford officials, and the results of the standard endurance all-wheel drive version have even been slightly improved.

It is worth noting that the long-endurance rear-wheel drive version with the longest range in this test has a score of 300 miles (approximately 482 kilometers). This is currently under EPA rules, except for Tesla’s production Other than electric vehicles, the best results have been achieved. Exceeding Mercedes-Benz EQC and Jaguar I-Pace, the previous test results of these two models were 220 miles (about 354 kilometers) and 234 miles (about 376 kilometers).

Likewise, foreign media reported that the Mustang Mach-E mileage has not reached the expected mileage. The announcement of the EPA's official results also made these news self-defeating. It’s no wonder that Darren Palmer, Global Project Director of Ford’s Pure Electric Vehicles, said: “The delivery of the Mustang Mach E in North America is imminent, and the EPA certification is just in time.”
