SAIC Group's overseas market continues to expand, sales in January rose 63.3% year-on-year

Blue Whale Automobile News on February 9th, SAIC Group released its January production and sales bulletin, showing that SAIC’s overseas market sales reached 37,500 that month, a year-on-year increase of 63.3%.


For the entire year of 2020, SAIC Motor achieved overseas sales of 390,000 vehicles, an increase of 11.3% year-on-year, exceeding one-third of the total overseas sales of Chinese auto companies, and ranking first in the country for five consecutive years. Among them, the MG brand sold 230,000 vehicles overseas, winning the single-brand championship in China's overseas market for two consecutive years.


In January of this year, the MG brand sold 15,000 vehicles overseas, showing a good growth momentum. Among them, sales in European developed countries such as Britain, France, Germany and Holland exceeded 3,000, an increase of more than 50% year-on-year. It is worth noting that new energy vehicles accounted for 40%. According to SAIC, Europe has become the world's largest new energy vehicle market and is showing explosive growth. This year, SAIC will launch 'one new car every quarter' to seize the market.


In emerging markets, SAIC focuses on the implementation of intelligent network connection technology, and the 'i-Smart' intelligent network connection system has been used in more than 30 overseas models. Driven by intelligent connected products, SAIC sold 3538 vehicles in India in January, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year, and 2,625 vehicles in Thailand, an increase of 37.3% year-on-year.


It is reported that during the next 14th Five-Year Plan period, SAIC’s overseas sales will strive to reach the 1.5 million mark, and it will enter a profitable period in key overseas regional markets such as Europe.
