SAIC Group sold 493,000 vehicles in March, up 112.9%

China Automotive News, April 12, SAIC Motor recently released the March production and sales report. Data shows that in March, the company achieved sales of 493,000 vehicles, an increase of 112.9% year-on-year; in the first quarter of this year, sales of completed vehicles were 1.142 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 68.2%, and the sales volume continued to lead among auto companies.



Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles continued to maintain a spurt of growth. In March, the sales of SAIC new energy vehicles jumped to 62,000, a year-on-year increase of 837%. This year, it has achieved the monthly domestic new energy vehicle sales champion 'Sanlianzhuang' . Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, which once set a record of '200,000 vehicles sold within 200 days of the marketIn the first quarter of this year, the cumulative sales of SAIC's new energy vehicles reached 150,000, a year-on-year increase of 679.6%, and the growth rate far exceeded the market average.


Overseas sales continued to shine, with SAIC’s overseas sales reaching 48,000 in March, an increase of 78.5% year-on-year. Among them, overseas sales of self-owned brands reached 30,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 83.5%. The MG brand continued to rank first among China's single-exported auto brands in March, and sold well in 66 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Australia and New Zealand and other developed markets. In recent years, SAIC has given full play to its differentiated competitive advantages in new energy and intelligent networks, and has maintained rapid growth in overseas markets. In the first quarter of this year, SAIC’s overseas sales reached 119,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 77.5%, overcoming the adverse effects of the overseas epidemic and further expanding its leading position as the “domestic first” in overseas markets.
