US Kawasaki Ninja400 Recall Notice: Defects in Camshaft Chain Tensioner
The American Kawasaki Company recalled some 2021 motorcycles with a displacement of 400cc due to defects in the production of camshaft chain tensioners. According to documents issued by the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), Kawasaki estimates that this problem may affect a total of 1,770 units.
The models involved are as follows:

Due to improper heat treatment during the production of the affected camshaft chain tensioner, the strength of these units is not sufficient to meet the specifications. Continued use may cause damage to the camshaft chain tensioner and generate noise. In the worst case, it may cause the engine to stall, thereby increasing the risk of a collision for the cyclist.
Currently, the only potential warning listed is abnormal engine noise. The production date of the vehicle that may be affected is July, 2020. Between January 1st and October 27th, 2020.
