Weilai signs a strategic cooperation agreement with Sinopec to lay out the charging and swapping network

The Sinopec Chaoying Station, a joint Weilai exchange station, was officially completed. The swap station is the world's first NIO second-generation swap station, and also the first NIO-Sinopec cooperation, marking the full start of the construction of NIO's second-generation swap station. The cooperation between Sinopec and NIO is a milestone in the development of China's smart electric vehicle industry. It is a concrete measure for the two parties to jointly help 'carbon peak and carbon neutral

NIO's second-generation power swap station is the world's first mass-produced power swap station that realizes automatic parking of vehicles. It is a software-defined intelligent power swap system combined with end-cloud. A total of 239 sensors and 4 cloud systems are deployed in the whole station of the second-generation NIO power station to work together to comprehensively deepen the application of visual recognition technology. With the blessing of science and technology, users do not need to get off the car and can start self-service battery exchange with one button in the car. The second-generation swap station can provide up to 312 swapping services per day, effectively improving the swapping efficiency.

On the same day, Sinopec and Weilai also signed a strategic cooperation agreement. In addition to the layout of charging and swapping, the two parties will also develop new materials and smart electric vehicles, battery rental services (BaaS), vehicle procurement and leisure consumption. We will carry out all-round cooperation in scene construction and other aspects, give full play to their respective advantages, and jointly create an innovative cooperation model between the global energy industry and the automotive industry.

Sinopec Chairman and Party Secretary Zhang Yuzhuo said that Sinopec is accelerating its transformation from traditional oil product sales to an integrated energy service provider of “oil, gas, hydrogen, electricity, non-electricity”, focusing on the development of new power stations and high-power DC fast charging. During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, 5000 charging and swapping stations will be planned. The cooperation with NIO will surely push the two parties to give full play to their respective advantages, deepen cooperation in a wider area, and achieve more results.
