  As early as the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show, JAC has announced that in the next three years, the three-cylinder 1.2T engine independently developed by JAC Automotive Research Institute will gradually replace The existing 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, and 1.2T three-cylinder engine performance has been greatly improved, surpassing the 1.5L/1.6L naturally aspirated engine.

   Therefore, JAC’s 1.2T three-cylinder turbocharged engine is officially unveiled at the 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show, and there is not much surprise. Instead, I was curious about the power of this engine.

   In the middle of this year, Jianghuai Automobile will renovate the existing engine production line. The annual output of 200,000 1.5TGDI gasoline engine production lines in the existing joint plant will be transformed. After the transformation, 50,000 With 1.5TGDI, 50,000 1.2TGDI and 100,000 4GB engines, the total production capacity is 200,000 units.

   This 1.2TGDI three-cylinder engine adopts a horizontal layout, and its emission meets the emission requirements of Phase VI of China. The 1.2T turbocharged engine has a displacement of 1.195L, a rated power of 90kW (122ps)/4850rpm~5500rpm, and a maximum torque of 200N·m/2000rpm~4000rpm. The overall power output exceeds the power level of the JAC code-named HFC4GB2.3D 1.6L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 83kW (113ps) and a maximum torque of 146N·m.

  1.2TGDI engine adopts in-line 3-cylinder layout, adopts intake and exhaust variable valve timing system, in-cylinder direct injection technology, Atkinson cycle, turbocharging And intercooler and other technologies.

  The direct injection in the cylinder adopts the injection pressure of 350bar to improve the atomization effect and improve the combustion efficiency. Conducive to reducing fuel consumption, so that the engine can meet the challenges of cafe regulations. At the same time, the in-cylinder direct injection technology and turbocharging can also increase the power and torque output. The maximum power rise has reached 75KW/L, and the strength cannot be ignored.

  Atkinson cycle is characterized in that the work stroke is greater than the compression stroke. It can be simply understood that the expansion stroke of the piston is greater than the compression stroke, and the expansion ratio is greater than the compression ratio. Due to the adoption of the intake and exhaust variable timing system, the control program needs to be improved to achieve the delayed closing of the intake valve, and the combustible gas is discharged from the intake valve, so as to realize the Atkinson cycle, improve the fuel utilization rate, and achieve fuel saving the goal of. Unfortunately, this time Jianghuai did not announce the minimum fuel consumption rate.

   This 1.2TGDI engine is expected to be carried on the JAC Refine S3, and it is expected to be launched at the end of this year or early 2018. The 1.2T engine will be equipped with a 6DCT wet dual-clutch gearbox or a manual gearbox. After the S3 is equipped with a 1.2T engine, the tax rate will be lowered by 2 percentage points, which can reduce tax costs and increase profits.


   JAC 1.2T three-cylinder turbocharged engine is indeed very attractive in terms of data performance, and I believe that the performance of fuel economy is also very good. This is also the engine that everyone is looking forward to. At the same time, after all, it is a three-cylinder engine, and its vibration is unavoidable. Jianghuai has not announced its balance plan, which needs to be experienced in mass production. Of course, in addition to performance, fuel economy, and ride comfort, the engine's reliability and durability also need to be considered.
