J.D. Power announced the 2021 car quality and reliability study, and Tesla ranked fourth from the bottom among 33 automakers.

In 2021, Jundi Automobile’s reliability study was participated by 8,000 car owners with three years of age. Through a questionnaire survey, the number and types of failure problems encountered by car owners of various brands in the past year were collected. Less, the higher the rating score. Jundi tracked a total of 177 faults in eight categories, including heating and air conditioning systems, infotainment systems, appearance defects, and powertrain failures. The average score for this evaluation is 121 failures per 100 vehicles. Tesla's survey result is an average of 176 failures per 100 vehicles, which is only better than Jaguar (186/100), Alfa Romeo (196/100) and Land Rover (244/100). The top three brands are Lexus (81/100), Porsche (86/100) and Kia (97/100).

This is the first time Tesla has appeared in a quality reliability study, but it has not been included in the official ranking because 'Tesla did not authorize Jundi to conduct a questionnaire survey of car owners in 15 states.' , So strictly speaking, they did not meet Jundi's standards. The scoring of Tesla uses survey data from 35 other states. The data source may affect the scoring results. In addition, the workmanship problems that broke out in Model 3 at the end of 2017 may also cause the score to be too low this time.

In the future, let alone the poor quality of the domestically produced Tesla. Looking at this situation, Tesla’s quality problem is that the universe is inferior. Combined with Musk's remarks some time ago that 'don't buy a car during the peak period of mass production
