At the end of the year and the New Year, it’s time for manufacturers to announce their transcripts for a year. Under the circumstance of the epidemic, the past year has been a chaotic and low year for many companies in the industry, but Tesla is an exception. In the past 2020, Tesla successfully delivered 499,550 new cars to customers, setting a record since the birth of the brand.

According to data released by Tesla a few days ago, in the fourth quarter of 2020, Tesla delivered a total of 180,570 Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X globally. Although this data is still some distance from the 190,000 to 200,000 vehicles that Tesla had predicted, the total delivery of more than 180,000 vehicles did set a new high for the brand's single quarter delivery.

Specifically, in the fourth quarter of 2020, the output of Tesla Model S and Model X was 16,097, and 18,920 were delivered, of which operating leased vehicles accounted for 11%; Model 3 and Model Y The output reached 163,660 vehicles, and 161,650 vehicles were delivered to customers, of which operating leased vehicles accounted for 7%. Adding the two numbers, Q4 produced a total of 179,757 vehicles and delivered 180,570 vehicles. The total proportion of operating leased vehicles was 8%.

Looking at Tesla's annual data, Model S and Model X produced a total of 54,805 vehicles and delivered 57,039 vehicles to customers; Model 3 and Model Y produced a total of 454,932 vehicles, and delivered 442,511 vehicles. When the two numbers are added together, 509,737 vehicles were produced and 499,550 vehicles were delivered. It is worth mentioning that Tesla once set a small goal of delivering 500,000 new cars in 2020. Although it is still 450 cars short, it is considered infinitely close. If there is no shutdown due to the epidemic, there is still a great probability of achieving it. The goal of 500,000 vehicles.

Editor's comment:

In the face of a raging epidemic at the beginning of the year, Tesla decided to suspend production on a large scale, and the impact of this was not completely eliminated in the following months, such as the delivery of Model 3 in Europe in August It's abnormally low. However, for Tesla, the Model 3 that the Shanghai factory is fully producing and the Model Y that has just started production will not only be supplied to the Chinese domestic market, but will also be exported to Europe to ease the pressure on the US factory. It is foreseeable that in 2021, with the Shanghai factory Model Y being put into production and officially listed, Tesla's delivery and output will reach new highs.
