China Automotive News, February 7th. In early February 2021, BYD Auto announced that its passenger car sales in January reached 42,094 units, a significant increase of 68% year-on-year, achieving a 'good start' for 2021. Among them, 19,871 new energy vehicles were sold, a year-on-year increase of 183.1%. The cumulative sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 930,000, ranking first in the country for eight consecutive years.

The performance of new energy is eye-catching

In January, BYD’s sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 19,871, a year-on-year increase of 183.1%, and their performance was quite eye-catching. Among them, the sales of pure electric models were 14,463, a year-on-year increase of 181.2%, and the sales of hybrid models were 5,408, a year-on-year increase of 188.3%, continuing to lead the new energy market.

While new energy vehicles are leading the way, fuel vehicles have also maintained steady growth. Sales reached 22,223 in January, a year-on-year increase of 23.2%. New energy and fuel vehicles go hand in hand and work together to promote the continued growth of BYD's overall sales.

Multiple 'explosive styles' are working together

Biad’s 'Han and Tang' dual flagship models have contributed to the impressive results that have achieved a year-on-year increase or even a doubling. In January, the 'Hantang' flagship continued to exceed 10,000. Among them, 12,103 Han models were sold well, with sales exceeding 10,000 for three consecutive months. Since its launch in July 2020, it has achieved a six-month-on-month positive growth rate. Among them, Han EV performed particularly well, with a month-on-month increase of 3.2%. The Tang family sold 2,551 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. The dual flagships jointly promoted the brand upward.

Qin, Song and other 'explosive models' for mainstream family cars are also working together. Among them, the Song family sold 16,682 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%, the Qin family sold 3929 vehicles, and the e-series sold 1,449 vehicles. Several major explosion models have formed a synergy, driving BYD's overall sales to increase.

Since 2021, BYD Auto has repeatedly made achievements in brand building and technological innovation. After BYD Auto released a brand new logo (LOGO) with a stronger sense of design, technology and quality at the beginning of the new year, on January 11, BYD DM-i Super Hybrid was officially released, and Qin PLUS DM-i and Song were launched in one fell swoop. Three DM-i super hybrid models, PLUS DM-i and Tang DM-i, have started pre-sales. As the product camp continues to grow, BYD will continue to promote the upgrading of the consumption structure of the Chinese auto market, accelerate the realization of the dream of green travel, and lead the Chinese auto market all the way forward.
