Two Ferrari 812 special editions released, self-priming V12 still shines

The maximum power of the 6.5-liter self-priming V12 engine reaches 830 horsepower, which is 30 horsepower more than the 812 Surperfast. The maximum speed is increased from 9000rpm to 9500rpm, and the maximum power needs to be reached at 9250rpm. However, the engine torque is slightly reduced, from 718Nm to 692Nm.

The weight of the titanium alloy connecting rod is reduced by 40%; the piston pin and camshaft are coated with diamond-like carbon to reduce friction loss; the crankshaft has been rebalanced and adjusted, which is less than the previous version 3% weight; the variable geometry inlet system has been redesigned, and the size of the intake manifold and air collecting box is smaller to shorten the total length of the inlet and ensure the air supply at high speeds.

All air intake passages are integrated in a larger front single air intake, and the cooling efficiency is increased by 10%. The engine oil tank has been redesigned and matched with a variable flow oil pump. While the oil supply speed is increased by 30%, it also reduces the amount of oil by 1 kg.

It is still equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with the same gear ratio, but the shift speed has increased by 5%. The zero-hundred acceleration time of the 812 Competizione is 2.85 seconds, which is only 0.05 seconds faster than the 812 Superfast, but the acceleration time of 0-200km/h is shortened by 0.4 seconds and is now 7.5 seconds.

The 812 Competizione has reduced weight by 38 kg (1487 kg), which mainly involves the power system, transmission and body structure. Carbon fiber materials are widely used in the appearance of new cars, especially front and rear bumpers, rear spoilers and air intakes. The four carbon fiber wheels are 3.7 kg lighter than forged wheels.

The 812 Competizione has a more powerful aerodynamic design, and the operating temperature of the brake system is reduced by 30 degrees Celsius, which can cope with more intense track driving. The 812 Competizione is the first Ferrari model equipped with a four-wheel independent steering system.
